You are my mate, my saviour and dare I say itƒmy hero.î This is RachelÍs message to her guide dog Samson ? just one of the many life-changing partnerships created by Guide Dogs. For over 80 years Guide Dogs has been giving people back their confidence, freedom and independence by training and providing world-class guide dogs. This enables people who are blind or partially-sighted to do what so many of us take for granted. There are over 180,000 people who are blind or partially-sighted in the UK who rarely leave home alone, so we are hard at work to give more people the opportunity to live life to the full. Every year we create hundreds of new partnerships and change so many lives. We also make a promise; to provide every one of our guide dog owners with a guide dog for as long as they need one. This is a big promise to keep, and relies on the continued support and generous donations from people like you. Our vision We will not rest until people who are blind and partially sighted can enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.
